Yes I know my photoshoot subjects these days are pretty much the same "ol" thing, but they're still freaking adorable don't you think? One day I'll put more time and energy into getting my business up and running again so I can provide a bit more diversity, but for now these subjects will do just fine.

And then bro took some shots of me. So even though he took them, I edited them, so I thought it was fair for me to share a few of those as well!
My little brother came into town for Thanksgiving and I jumped immediately at the chance to photograph him. I have fun shooting him because he doesn't need much direction, he holds still, and is patient with me while I find better lighting, cooler backgrounds, and fix my camera settings.
For years I've been driving past a certain dilapidated building on my way to and from work. Everytime I see it I have just felt drawn to capture some sort of life in front of it's baren backdrop. I don't know, it just seems poetic and artistic to me in some way.
I was glad for a willing participant to ignore the "No Tresspassing" signs and sneek a few shots before we couldn't risk leaving ourselves to the cops any longer. :)

You'd think I would wash those dirty hands, retake the picture and post that one on the blog - but there's something so FIVE about it. It's so telling of what it's like to have a 5 year old! Don't let the pretty little dress fool you, there's no keepin' this active, rambunctious gal clean or all put together. That's what makes being 5 so fun though right?

I haven't had any official photo shoots lately (I guess the fact that I don't really publicize my services has something to do with that) but I sure have had fun taking some shots of my own kids and a few friends this summer at the beach.

I big ol' I.O.U. got me out on another photo shoot this past weekend. It was a perfectly beautiful day - how did the one-year-old not get the memo?

Well this great family gave me the chance to get back in the saddle and take some pictures of some adorable kids that weren't my own!

After about a year long hiatus I'm trying to get back into the swing of things with my photography. I thought I'd commemorate my "come back" with the pictures I took 4 months ago of my newborn. Hopefully, I'll be getting and creating more opportunities for "real" photography shoots.
Though she is 18 months old now she still seems like my little baby.
I know I've been on a major hiatus for the past while. With moving, moving, and then moving AGAIN there hasn't been a ton of time for creativity. Plus I've got morning sickness like no other...but I did manage to find the motivation to take some three year old shots of my little one. Maybe someone here in our new town will eventually pick up on the fact that I take photos and I'll get back into doing them for others. Until then, enjoy my own sporadic posts.
